How it began
The roots of Christian Mission to Jamaica go back to 2001, when a Christian school in New Hampshire began sending student teams to minister in Jamaica.
For four summers those students preached, sang, built and served alongside Jamaican churches. When the school's trips came to an end in 2004, three families who had gone along could not shake what they had seen — congregations hungry for the Word, pastors laboring with almost nothing, children who lit up when someone told them about Jesus.
So they kept going. Christian Mission to Jamaica was formed as a 501(c)(3) non-profit to carry the work forward, and by God's grace it has grown from a handful of friends into a ministry with six distinct outreaches and a deep, long-standing relationship with the churches of Clarendon Parish.
Today a new generation is joining in. Our July 2025 team was five teenagers and three adults — some of them the children of the original families.
